My heart sings whenever I hear Swiss-born Nicolas Meier play one of his many guitars, or experience one of his many compositions.

Nicolas is possibly one of the most natural, unassuming, intuitive and brilliant musicians I see as jazz magpies. They are brightly coloured, bold and innovative. They collect rhythms and sounds from many different civilisations and cultures and weave them into their personal nest of wonder. Metaphorically, they love anything that shines.

They are charmers, too.

Shine he truly does, with a glittering international career and more than 12 critically acclaimed albums. His many influences include classic American and European jazz, Turkish, Middle Eastern, classical, rock and folk — all of which he blends into his own unique style.

He became a mainstay in Jeff Beck’s band and has played with Sting, The Yellowjackets, Joni Mitchell and Frank Zappa, and many of our favourite jazz greats.

Music will be played from Nicolas’s latest album, Elysian Drift, released August 2026.

This night will be a wonderful, soothing journey of outstanding guitar music — embellished by percussionist Demi Garcia Sabat, violinist Richard Jones and bassist Tom Mason.
